DESCRIPTION:Building upon the principles taught in NECA’s Basic Estimating course\, this course focuses on the strategy and business decisions made during the estimating and bidding processes. The course will assist estimators and managers think strategically in how they find\, evaluate\, and bid electrical construction projects. \nFollowing this course\, participants will be able to: \n\nExplain the estimator’s role and responsibilities throughout the bidding process\nDefine estimating terminology\nEvaluate bidding opportunities for most desirable projects\nAnalyze factors have effects on cost and labor productivity\nEvaluate the potential risk factors of a project\nDiscuss the risks and responsibilities identified in the project specifications\, labor agreements\, scope letters\, and standard contracts\nDescribe the difference between overhead and profit and how they are applied to estimates.\n\nTarget audience: Individuals with a firm grasp of basic estimating principles and experience preparing bids. \nPrerequisite: Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction or similar industry experience \nCourse Length: Two-Day \nContinuing Education Hours: 12
